about us
Our Shelter
“At PAWS ANIMAL WELFARE SOCIETY, we believe every dog deserves a second chance—whether through healing care for street survivors or lifelong companionship for aging and ailing souls. Led by our committed and visionary president Dr.Hima Bindu, her technocrat sibling Sirisha Surrathi and Secretary (Dr).Venkata Raman Redrowtu, we provide veterinary treatment, vaccination, and a permanent home for those who’ve endured life on the streets. These dogs aren’t just shelter residents—they’re community ambassadors and cherished housemates.”
Make a Donation
As a principled approach, We prefer donations not in cash but only in kind—like food, medicine, or equipment. We often do so to avoid any financial mismanagement and ensure transparency. It also guarantees that animals receive what they need directly.

Homemade Food: It must be your Gold Standard
Homemade diets, here are a few principles to reinforce that approach:Balanced recipes: Include lean proteins (chicken, fish, paneer), complex carbs (rice, sweet potato), and veggies (carrot, pumpkin, spinach).
Supplements: Add calcium (eggshell powder), omega-3 (flaxseed or fish oil), and taurine for cats.
Avoid: Onions, garlic, chocolate, grapes, and excess salt or oil.
Reduced cancer risk: Spaying eliminates the risk of uterine and ovarian cancers, and significantly lowers the chance of breast cancer if done before the first heat. Neutering prevents testicular cancer and reduces prostate issues.
Prevention of infections: Spaying prevents pyometra, a potentially fatal uterine infection common in older unspayed females.
Longer lifespan: Studies show spayed cats live 39% longer and dogs 23% longer than their unaltered counterparts.
Calmer demeanor: Pets are less likely to roam, fight, or display aggression. This means fewer territorial disputes and less stress for both pet and guardian.
Reduced marking and spraying: Neutered males are less likely to mark territory with urine indoors.
No heat cycles: Spayed females avoid the distress and behavioral changes associated with being in heat—no yowling, pacing, or attracting unwanted attention
Supports responsible guardianship: It’s a proactive step that aligns with your values of lawful, humane care and systemic change
Adoption—whether of a rescued animal or a shelter pet—is a powerful act of compassion and responsibility. For someone like you, who’s deeply committed to systemic change and humane care, adoption isn’t just a personal choice—it’s a statement of values.
A second chance at life: Many shelter animals are victims of abandonment, neglect, or cruelty. Adoption gives them safety, dignity, and a loving home.
Improved health and well-being: Adopted pets often receive vaccinations, spaying/neutering, and basic medical care before placement.
Emotional healing: Animals thrive in stable, affectionate environments. Your care can reverse trauma and rebuild trust
